The airport director Bhupesh Chand Hans Negi, on Sunday, informed that the Airports Authority of India (AAI) is trying to bring in master concessionaire for running food and beverage operations at the Dabolim international airport which will benefit a large number of passengers.
Speaking further, Negi disclosed that AAI will be introducing In-line Baggage Screening System (ILBS) by next year.
“The airport has received some of the equipment for the installation of the ILBS,” he said and added that “our next target is to bring in master concessionaire for running food and beverage operations.”
It has been learnt that AAI is making efforts to provide passengers a better shopping and dining experience at 12 of its airports, which would boost its revenue.
Retail experience at the Dabolim airport is undergoing a makeover with Future Group-led Consortium winning the Retail Master Concessionaire contract for running the retail business.
The concessionaire shall incur all expenditure in relation to the development, setting up, operation, maintenance and management of the F&B outlets.
Meanwhile, it has been learnt that the modification works inside the integrated terminal building of the airport is in full swing.
