More funds sanctioned for third Mandovi bridge: Gadkari




The Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Shipping and Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation Nitin Gadkari on Tuesday announced that the central government has sanctioned additional 50 per cent cost of Rs 450 crore for the under-construction third bridge over river Mandovi, taking the total cost of the project to Rs 1,250 crore.

He was addressing a large gathering after inaugurating the Inland Ferry Services project of Mormugao Port Trust and Drishti Marine at airport ferry terminal (AFT) at Baina beach in the presence of Union Minister of State for AYUSH Shripad Naik, Rajya Sabha MP Vinay Tendulkar, South Goa MP Narendra Sawaikar, Urban Development Minister Francis D’Souza, Panchayati Raj Minister Mauvin Godinho, Commissioner of NRI Affairs Milind Naik, Cortalim MLA Alina Saldanha, Curchorem MLA Nilesh Cabral, MPT chairman I Jeyakumar, Drishti Marine chairman Rajiv Somani, managing director Ankit Somani, chief executive officer Ravi Shankar and others.

Gadkari disclosed that the proposed Fishing Harbour in Vasco Bay to be built at a cost of Rs 104 crore will have facilities like canteen, STP, hall, toilet, auction hall, rest room etc.
