Mom’s Recipes compiled by Smita Uday Kamat was released by Urbano do Rego – consultant chef, Taj Group of Hotels, Goa – and Ruta Kahate –cookbook author and restaurateur– with publisher Sapna Sardessai, recently.
The chief guest for the evening Urbano do Rego said that cooking is a continuous process of learning and that he himself has received several cooking tips from the author.
Ruta Kahate spoke about how very few people of this generation perceive cooking as a serious career. She feels that cooking too requires a lot of study and passion and needs the same kind of encouragement as other professions.
Sapna Sardessai expressed that recipes are meant to be shared and that the purpose of this particular book is to unite people of the world over their cuisines.
Amita Nemlekar spoke about Smita Kamat’s culinary journey and Sonali Amonker delivered the vote of thanks. The programme was conducted by Meghana Sawardekar.
The all-colour, fully illustrated, glossy cookbook contains 75 recipes that are a delectable mix of local and global recipes that are popular in most Goan households and beyond.
