Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) the oldest regional party in the state and founded by Bahusaheb Bandodkar has been sold to the Congress by Dhavalikar brothers by tendering their support for the Lok Sabha elections, alleged Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday.
Sawant was reacting to the support declared by the MGP to the Congress for the state Lok Sabha elections scheduled on April 23. Chief Minister Sawant was addressing a corner meeting held at Borim. Along with him BJP state president Vinay Tendulkar, BJP Shiroda candidate Subhash Shirodkar and others were present for the meeting.
Sawant further said that, MGP never supported the Congress in its history, but for self interest of the Dhavalikar brothers, the MGP has tendered its support for the very first time.
Chief Minister Sawant along with party state president Vinay Tendulkar and candidate Subhash Shirodkar held a series of corner meetings in Shiroda on Thursday to pacify BJP workers in Shiroda constituency who were upset with the entry of Subhash Shirodkar into the BJP.
