MES College organises Commerce Fiesta

With the objective to provide a platform to the B.Com students of the college to present their innate skills and talents and excel in various competitions, the Commerce Association of the Department of Commerce organised the fourth edition of The Commerce Fiesta. Students from the classes of BCom and MCom organised various inter class competitions under the guidance of teacher facilitator for each class. This year the theme for the Commerce Fiesta was ‘Éntrepreneurship – the next big venture’.

The chief guest for the programme was manager, HDFC Bank, Chinchinim Branch, Rohan Sonurlekar. Speaking on the occasion, he stressed on the importance of being positive in life.

The inaugural programme was followed by the events comprising of two categories, the on stage and off stage competitions. The overall class championship was won by BCom. Semester VI ‘A.’ Mayuresh Shetye was awarded the title of Mr Commerce and Alidia Vales was awarded the title of Miss Commerce 2017-18.

The valedictory function was graced by minister Mauvin Godinho as the chief guest and assistant professor at GVM’s College, Ponda Deepali Naik as the guest of Honour. Godinho reaffirmed the fact that co-curricular activities play an important role in all round development of a person.
