PANAJI: The meeting of district-level monitoring committee on cable television network was held in Margao under the chairmanship of the district Collector Dr Sachin Shinde (IAS) to review cable television network rules in view of registering and renewing the registration of multi system operators (MSOs) and local cable operators (LCOs). Additional collector I L Pereira was also present.
Dr Shinde sought details of the registration of all the MSOs and LCOs from the post masters. He also sought updated details of the registration renewal with the post masters.
The Collector asked the MSOs and LCOs to complete formalities regarding registering and renewing their units to ensure smooth functioning and avoid complaints from the subscribers. He also asked MSOs to provide data of the entire cable operators of South Goa in order to work out the functioning of the operators transmitting local channels.
Sr Aradhana AC, principal of Carmel Women College, Nuvem, Kavita Borkar, psychology department, Chowgule College of Arts and Science and Sibel Almeida, sociology department, Rosary College of Arts and Science, Navelim voluntarily initiated a collective decision in pursuance to the advertisement on cable television emphasising priority to create awareness on PC-PNDT Act through local channels. It was also decided to create awareness on municipal solid waste management.
Government guidelines on digitalization were also discussed during the meeting. Arun Nadkarni, principal, Kare College of Law, Margao, Mohan Naik, SDPO, Margao were present among others.
