VASCO: Officials of legal metrology, weights and measures and civil supplies and consumers affairs in Vasco on Thursday made surprise check at retailer domestic gas cylinder outlet in port town and found average net weight of cylinders to be satisfactory.
The checks were conducted as per the directions issued by the office of the Mormugao mamlatdar.
Inspector of legal metrology, weights and measures Vasco Liladhar Kumbharjuvenkar, sub-inspector civil supplies and consumers affairs Mormugao Sanjeev Naik, awal karkun attached to the office of the Mormugao mamlatdar Kundan Gadekar besides others made a surprise visit to the Bharat Petroleum’s Corporation Ltd (BPCL) retailer Goa Gas Service next to the F L Gomes road.
“During the surprise check, we found that the statistical average net weight of 14.2 kg LPG domestic cylinder was 14.234 kg which is within the acceptable limits,” said Kumbharjuvenkar.
Sub-inspector civil supplies and consumers affairs Mormugao Naik said, “In all 32 domestic gas cylinders were checked during the joint inspection and all cylinders which were dispatched for delivery were found within the permissible limits.”
