FC Bardez beat 6-man Cavelossim

AMBELIM: FC Bardez came from behind to beat six-man SCC Cavelossim 2-1 in the second match of the Goa Sevens Premier League, organised by Goa Sevens and Ambelim Sports Club in association with Goa Football Association (GFA) at Ambelim Sports Complex, on Sunday. Caitano Veigas and Clinton Niasso scored for the North Goa team while SCC Cavelossim scored through Moses D’Sa. Meanwhile, Ambelim Queens edged past Skyla Strikers 3-2 in the first game of the Sevens Women’s Football Festival, on Saturday. Nevilla Colaco scored a brace for Ambelim Queens while their other goal was a self goal. Reema Noronha and Jeromina Colaco struck once each for Skyla Strikers.

Quepem Veterans advance

SALIGAO: Quepem Veterans beat Candolim Veterans 7-6 via sudden death in the All Goa Veterans Soccer tournament, organised by Saligao Sporting Club, at Saligao Sporting Club Ground, on Sunday. The teams were locked in a 1-1 draw at the end of the regulation time. While Vincent put Quepem Veterans ahead, Caitan netted in the equaliser for Candolim Veterans. In the penalty shootout, Jose, Vincent, Agnelo, Remy, Agnelo and Minguel scored on target for Quepem Veterans while for Candolim Veterans Shankar, Bernard, Caitan, Hilary and Celu scored.

Mayem Cricketers, Manorva SC win

PANAJI: Raunak Mayem Cricketers defeated Thoteshwar Malim Boys by 34 runs and Manorva SC Chapora beat One Man Army by 42 runs in the 2nd All Goa Panchayat Level T20 Cricket Tournament, organised by Betim United, at SAG ground, Campal on Sunday. In the first match, Mayem Cricketers batted first and posted 139 for 7 in 20 overs. In reply Malim Boys could manage just 105 for 6. In the second match, batting first Manorva SC scored 152 for 6 and then bowled out One Man Army for 110.

Chess coaching camp for beginners

MARGAO: Salcete Taluka Chess Association in association with Shri Damodar Vidyaprasarak Mandal is conducting summer vacation beginners chess coaching camp from May 8 to 13 at Damodar Hall, behind Damodar Vidyabhuvan, Comba Margao. UC Nerul emerge soccer champs

SALIGAO: Holders United Club of Nerul lifted the Shanti Morada Soccer Cup 2018, organised by Adarsh Yuvak Sangh, with a convincing 2-0 win over Football Club of Siolim, at Saligao grounds, on Sunday. After a goalless first half, Dylan Britto scored two goals in the 50th and 60th minute to help his team lift the trophy.
