Varca SC brush aside SWC Zaino

AMBELIM: Varca SC beat SWC Zaino 4-1 in the GFA’s Second Division League match played at Ambelim ground on Thursday. Reeve D’Costa scored a hat-trick for the winners while Clive Colaco scored the other goal. Macron Fernandes scored the lone goal for SWC Zaino. At Navelim ground: Mandopa SC beat St Sebastian SC 4-0. Aulon Gomes scored a brace while Velxon Deixoto and Claudio Dias chipped in with a goal each. At Sangolda ground: Vagator Parish Youth Club and Dunes SC played out a 0-0 draw.

Bogmalo hit Cansaulim for six

CHICALIM: UYC Bogmalo thrashed CAC Cansaulim 6-0 in the GFA’s U-14 League match played at Chicalim ground on Thursday. Codwel Braganza and Jason Vaz scored a brace each while Elton Fernandes and Delano Pereira netted goal apiece. At Assonora ground: FC Tuem blanked Youth Club of Colvale 2-0. Sergius Fernandes scored both the goals as he found the mark in the 20th and 58th minute. At Curtorim ground: Nuvem SC and Dicarpale played out a 3-3 draw. Paxon Gomes, Joel Colaco and Leasly Carvalho scored for Dicarpale SC while Mceugene Fernandes, Merriston Coutinho and Roger Colaco were the scorers for Nuvem SC.

Augustias sail into semis

COLVALE: Augustias SC entered semifinals of the 12th All Goa Late Pio Jose Goveia Soccer Cup, organised by YSC Colvale, with a 2-0 win over Merces Sports Club in the quarterfinals played at Colvale church grounds, on Thursday. Both the goals came in the second session of play. In the 40th minute Pundalik Naik scored for Augustias from a goalmouth melee, and twenty minutes later Rohan Naik inflated their lead with a stiff grounder.

SCC Loutolim seal semis berth

SERAULIM: SCC Loutolim entered the semifinals of Seraulim Panchayat Cup football tournament defeating Sao Jose de Areal 2-0, at Seraulim grounds on Thursday. Both the teams had their share of chances, but the strikers at either end failed culminate them into goals and as such the first half remained all barren. Crossing over, Dickson D’Costa scored both the goals for the winners as he found the mark in the 42nd and 45th minute.

DSYA’s carrom tourney postponed

PANAJI: The State Level Civil Services carrom tournament organised by Department of Sports and Youth Affairs, schedule to be held from December 12 to 14 at its Conference Hall has been postponed and will now be held from December 27 to 29 at the same venue, states the press release issued by DSYA.

Beach volleyball selection trials

PANAJI: The Department of Sports and Youth Affairs will be conducting selection trials on December 11 at Miramar beach to select the state U-14, U-17 and U-19 beach volleyball teams, both boys and girls, that will participate in the 63rd National School Games. The players should report to coach Dilip Divkar at the venue at 2.30 pm in proper playing kit and along with their I-Card.

Goa Velha Saints

DULER: Cuncolim Warriors edged past Goa Velha Saints 1-0 in the Vedanta Women’s League, organised by Goa Football Association, played at Duler Stadium on Thursday. Vailanka D’Souza scored the lone goal of the game and was eventually adjudged the most valuable player of the game.

Junior handball c’ship at Fatorda

FATORDA: Goa Handball Association will be conducting junior boys and girls state championship on December 17 at Nehru stadium open complex at Fatorda. Teams interested should contact Salvino D’Costa (9822069496) on or before December 11.
