International Yoga Day that was celebrated on June 21saw a number of yoga sessions hosted by enthusiasts. The tourism industry celebrated the day in a big way with several hotels organising yoga sessions for staff. In an effort to promote a healthier tomorrow, Vivanta by Taj, Panaji organised a Yoga session in the hotel premises conducted by Yoga Master Suresh Kumar. The one hour session had breathing techniques, physical postures and meditation with participants imparted knowledge of complicated postures in the simplest way. Speaking on the occasion, Jaikant Shroff, general manager, said, “In the current times where fitness is a rising concern, Yoga is the holistic approach to the physical, mental and spiritual well-being of an individual. Today, where everything is so fast paced, we need to make time to take care of ourselves for a healthier tomorrow.” The event was open to employees as well as residents in and around the neighborhood.
