Sri Lanka overcame an ever improving English side by 24 runs to win the last league match of the T20 cricket tri-series for blind, at GCA Academy ground in Porvorim on Thursday.
Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to bat first. Sandruwan (60), Kumara (50) and Silva (50*) scored half centuries as Sri Lanka posted 205 for 7 in 20 overs.
In reply, England openers gave a half-century stand and looked well on course to achieve the target, but the experienced Lankan bowlers restricted them to 181 for 5 in their allotted 20 overs. Both these teams will once again meet each other on Friday for a place in the final where they will meet India who have already sealed their place for the Saturday’s mega clash.
