As part of Institute Social Responsibility, Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda is organising Ksitij 2017, a three-day technical event on July 27, 28 and 29 July on the college campus. During the event, DBCE students will showcase academic projects, mini technical projects and science and environmental projects. A special science project competition will be organised for school students from standards five to 10 in association with ISHRAE Goa Chapter.
A one-day workshop on ‘Sustainable Energy Options for the Future’ for high school and higher secondary school science teachers will be held on July 28. The programme will help teachers gain insight into the current energy scenario in the country and future energy options. Workshop topics will include Energy Scenario in India, Environmental Impact of Energy Industry, Nuclear Energy, Ocean Thermal Energy (OTEC) and Energy from Waste. Resource persons for the same are senior principal scientist, National institute of Oceanography, A K Saran; associate professor, department of Biological Sciences, BITS Pilani, Goa Campus, Srikanth Mutnuri; associate professor and head, mechanical engineering department, Padre Conceicao College of Engineering, Jagannath Hirkude; head of department, Zoology, Carmel College for Women, Manoj Borkar and scientists from Kaiga Nuclear Plant, Karwar.
There will also be a panel discussion on ‘Corporate Work Culture’. Industry professionals will be invited as speakers for the discussion.
