Kavalem mishap: 60-yr-old man booked for rash driving

PONDA: Sixty-year-old Vishnu Naik from Durbhat, the driver of a four-wheeler that had rammed into a scooter injuring three members of a Talaulim-based family at Kavalem on Saturday, has been booked for rash driving.

On Saturday evening, three members from the Talaulim-based family including a man, his wife and their 10-year-old son were grievously injured in the accident at Kavalem-Don Khambyakade after a speeding four-wheeler rammed into their scooter after entering from the wrong side of the road. Rudra Talaulikar (45), Manasi Talaulikar (42) and Chinav Talaulikar (10), were admitted in Goa Medical College and Hospital, at Bambolim for treatment.

Ponda police booked the elderly man under Section 338 (causing grievous and endangering life) and Section 279 (rash driving or riding on a public way) of IPC. Further investigation is in progress.
