Mapusa: Refuting the allegation made by ruling councillors of Mapusa, Congress candidate Sudhir Kandolkar termed it as an election gimmick. Kandolkar was addressing media persons on Sunday.
Replying to a question, the Congress candidate, who was a BJP loyalist, said that allegations made are wrong as when Falari was chairperson, market committee was led by another councillor and when Kavlekar was chairperson also, he was not the market chairman.
“During their tenure, mismanagement was happening and then I had informed Babush about it and he had asked me to keep out of it. Even market committee had raised voice over mismanagement and even a morcha was taken to MMC. I’m not involved in any mismanagement,” said Kandolkar.
Congress candidate Kandolkar said that there is need for planned development in Mapusa as proposals were made during council meeting but it has to be followed up later.
He further said, “Development has been done in the state as work of highway and others are going on but self respected people of Mapusa want development of Mapusa which I’m well aware of as I have grown up in Mapusa and understand that we need a Ravindra Bhawan, ground, parking provisions and facility and after getting elected, I will first take up bus stand work and complete it in one and half years.”
North Goa Congress district president Vijay Bhike said, “We are confident that Mapusa seat will come to us and Congress will create history. I also have no doubt that on May 24 a Congress government will be formed in the state as we will win all four seats which are in north Goa district.”
