CHENNAI: Within one-and-a-half months of assuming office, the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Ms J Jayalalithaa on Sunday effected the second reshuffle of her cabinet, dropping a minister, inducting a new one and reallocating some portfolios.
The Law, Courts and Prisons, Personnel And Administration Reforms And Prevention Of Corruption Minister, Mr E Subaya has been dropped from the council of ministers, said a statement from the Tamil Nadu Governor, Mr Surjit Singh Barnala’s office.
The portfolios handled by Mr Subaya have been allotted to the Information Minister, Mr G Senthamizhan who has been redesignated as the minister for information, law, courts and prisons.
Meanwhile, Mr P Chendur Pandian, a legislator from Kadayanallur constituency, has been inducted as the khadi and village industries minister. He will be sworn-in Monday at Raj Bhavan.
The portfolio is currently held by Mr BV Ramana, who will continue to be the minister for handloom and textiles.
The Food Minister Agri, Mr S S Krishnamoorthy will now be the commercial taxes and registration minister and tourism minister Budhichandhiran will take over as food minister.
The Commercial Taxes and Registration Minister, Mr S Gokula Indira will now look after tourism.
