Workshop on Tiatr held

The Tiatr Academy of Goa in collaboration with St Thereza’s Convent High School, Raia, organised a workshop on tiatr, its song and music on August 18 from 9:30 a.m. onwards at the school hall. In all 57 students participated in the workshop.

Mr Tomazinho Cardozo, president of TAG conducted the first session in which history of tiatr was told to the participants through a question and answer session. Students were also educated about the pioneers of tiatr and about the contribution of tiatr artistes of the yesteryears.
The second session dealt with acting and hence the participants were divided into two groups. The resource persons for this session were Mr Joe Rose and Mr Premanand Sangodkar, both tiatr artistes of repute.
The students were guided to produce a small skit which was presented to the participants by different groups. The other participants who did not act in the skits evaluated the performances critically and numerous suggestions for better acting were provided by the participants and the teachers.
Earlier the resource persons were welcomed by the headmistress of the school, Sr Amelia D’Souza. Students were given certificates of participation. Mr Thomas Fernandes a teacher of the school proposed the vote of thanks.
