Trilogy at KA

The Kala Academy will host a festival of three Hindi plays at the DMK hall of Kala Academy at 6.30 p.m today. The plays enacted by Kala Academy’s Rangamel group, will present a reflection of society.

The plays to be presented are Mohan Rakesh’s ‘Bahut Bada Sawal’ directed by Padmashree Josalkar. This play speaks about the informal meetings that take place in our societies. The second play titled ‘Holi’ by Mahesh Elkunchwar directed by Ventakesh Naik talks on the issue of ragging in colleges. The third and the last play is actually a folktale titled, ‘Fitrati Chor’ by Vijaydan Mehta, which is directed by Afsar Hussain. The play is the story of an honest thief.

The West Zone Cultural Centre, Udaipur, Rajasthan has invited Kala Academy’s Rangamel group to perform these three plays on April 4 at 7 p.m. at the Shilpagram Complex, Udaipur. It is part of their monthly programme ‘Natya Sandhya Rangshala’ in which various dramas are presented by dramatic groups from different member States.
