The 31stSurashree Kesarbai Kerkar Smriti Sangeet Samaroha of Kala Academy will be held on November12 and 13, 2011 at the Dinanath Mangeshkar Kala Mandir, Panaji. Local as well as eminent artistes of repute will be participating in it. The speaker of the Goa Legislative Assembly and chairperson of Kala Academy, Mr Pratapsingh Rane will inaugurate the festival on November 12 at 6 p.m.
An invocation song presented by the students of the faculty of Indian Music and Dance, Kala Academy will mark the inaugural of the festival. The inaugural function will be followed by classical vocal, instrumental and dance programmes presented in three sessions. The inaugural session on the first day will commence at 6.05 p.m. with the Sundari Vadan by Shri Bhimanna Jadhav followed by Tri-ranjani - vocal, dance and instrumental concert by the students of Faculty of Indian Music and Dance. Devaki Pandit will present a vocal recital. The inaugural session will conclude with the Dhrupad Recital by Pt Uday Bhawalkar.
The second session will begin on November 13 at 10 a.m. with a vocal recital by Gauri Nayak Bhat from Goa. The second session will conclude with Mohan Veena recital presented by eminent artist Pt Vishwa Mohan Bhatt.
The third session on November 13 will begin at 4 p.m. with a Kathak dance recital presented Aditi Bhagwat from Mumbai. Omkar Dadarkar from Mumbai will present a vocal recital. The festival will conclude with the instrumental concert – Sound of Five Elements by Pt Trilok Gurtu from Mumbai on drums and tabla along with Ravindra Chary from Mumbai on the sitar.
The artistes who will be performing at the event will include Surmani Bhimanna Jadhav, Devaki Pandit, Pt Uday Bhawalkar, Gauri Nayak Bhat, Pt Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, Aditi Bhagwat, Omkar Dadarkar, Pt Trilok Gurtu, Ravindra Chary and others.
