The finals of the annual Samraat Sangeet Sitara singing competition organised by the Samraat Club International, in association with the directorate of art and culture will be held at the Dinanath Mangueshkar Kala Mandir, Kala Academy, on August 1, at 10 a. m.
Noted Goan vocalist, Shaunak Abhisheki will be the chief guest on the occasion. The event will conclude with a vocal recital by Abhisheki.
The five finalists, Vishwajeet Mestry, Swanandi Kulkarni, and Aakash Pandit, all from Belgaum, and Prachi Jathar and Siddhi Shelar from Goa will compete in the finals for the coveted title. The winner will be awarded a cash prize of Rs 10,000, a memento and a certificate. In addition, he or she will receive a scholarship for pursuing higher studies in Indian classical music.
The winner of the last year’s Samraat Sangeet Sitara contest, Samiksha Bhobhe will also perform at the event. The entrance passes are available at the Kala Academy counter. The event will also be telecast live on Prudent news channel.
