CreatiWitty Works in association with Jan Ugahi Trust are now exploring the creative side of children through their “The Pitch Black Project II” – a dance event - and “Aangan” - a photo feature that open at Kala Academy today
Summer vacations are always buzzing with camps and other creative activities. But, not all kids get to explore their talent.

The children of lesser God are always at the receiving end and are left dreaming about a better tomorrow.
Now things are changing and hope is in the air thanks to some committed groups who work towards adding some colours to their lives. With this aim in mind the CreatiWitty Works in association with Jan Ugahi Trust, a Margao based NGO working for the betterment of marginalised and street children, is hosting “The Pitch Black Project II”, on May 28, at 6:30 p.m., at the Dinanath Mangeshkar Kala Mandir, Kala Academy, Panaji.
Mr Raj Naique, creative head of this event stated that this was a dance event that would showcase around 30 children who would portray different dance forms. Mr Naique has choreographed this event. “As a dancer, I aim to idealise abstractly the emotions induced by music. This has been my motivating force. Gravity is the source of dynamic instability of movement, the arc between the balance and the imbalance of the moving human body. The fall and recovery. Representing one’s conflict with the surrounding world,” he philosophises.
This event will present the journey of these kids as they will perform through various dance forms.
Prior to this event they will host a photo exhibition on May 27 titled “Aangan” that will bring facets of the photographers themselves, Raj Naique and Savio Pereira. “These are black and white photographs of the children. We are trying to show the poignancy of innocence, of survival of the fittest, a celebration of hope, through their emotions,” adds Naique.
This exhibition will be formally inaugurated by the photographer, Mr Prasad Pankar on May 27 at 10 a.m. at Kala Academy’s art gallery.
Through this event the organisers are creating awareness about the plight of these street children and showing a way forward. “Through this event we are planning to trigger the concern of those in a position to give care, love, attention and expertise,” says Naique, signing off.
