A Green Twist

A tree is one of nature’s most wondrous creations. From the Vedic times, the sages worshipped it. The tree is a symbol of bounty that arises from the very womb of the Earth.  Big Foot, Loutolim propagates social message through different occasions.

The auspicious day of Guru Poornima was one of them. Maendra Alvares gathered professionals from all walks of life and held a tree planting session names ‘My Teacher, Nature, the Tree and the Earth. Hailed on Guru Poornima’.

Those gathered partook in the activity with a lot of enthusiasm. It began with a teacher planting the Parijhat, a tree which gives beautiful flowers as well as fragrance. Various trees like pomegranate, bamboo, ‘shreephall’ (coconut sapling) badam, tapioca, Glory Lily, tulsi, teak saplings etc.

Apart from that different herbs, medicinal and fruit trees, spice and vegetable plants were planted at the Big Foot.
