Mapusa-based trekking group, Eco Treks Goa recently hosted a felicitation function of trekking legend, Wing Commander Tripathi. He was felicitated with a traditional Goan lamp at the hands of North Goa MP, Mr Shripad Naik at Maquinez Palace, Panaji, recently.

During this event, Wing Commander Tripathi shared his experiences of climbing six mountains of six continents, including Mt Everest. The trekkers of the Eco Treks Goa were awestruck with the knowledge he shared about mountains and altitude. He even made a remark that one should go out and explore the world. He further maintained that mental preparedness for any trek or expedition plays an important role.

Mr Shripad Naik in his address mentioned that Tripathi’s achievements inspire us to achieve heights.

Environmentalist, Mr Rajendra Kerkar mentioned that like Himalayas, Western Ghats are one of the top biodiversity hotspots of the world. He added that through activities like hiking or trekking one could develop love for hills and mountains.

Mr Durgadas Parab of Eco Treks Goa also spoke on the occasion.

The event concluded with certificate distribution to trekkers who recently concluded the Himalayan Trek to Deo Tibba base, organised by Eco Treks Goa.
