The Directorate of Official Language Panaji-Goa released three books under the ‘Scheme of Publication 2008’. The three books titled as, ‘Secrets of Dental Care’ by Dr Sandeep Lawande, ‘Vikas Khara Khota’ by Mr Raju Nayak and ‘A Concise History of Goa’ by Professor Dr Olivinho Gomes.

All three books were released at the hands of Chief Minister, Mr Digambar Kamat on Monday at Maquinez Palace, Panaji.
Along with these books, the Directorate of Official Language also released audio CD (selective songs of Bakibab Borkar) produced by Naad Brahma-Vasco at the hands of Mr Ashok Patki, renowned music director.
Addressing the gathering Mr Kamat remarked, “All these three books released by the Directorate of Official Language-Panaji will be beneficial for readers from different fields. Such as, ‘Secrets of Dental Care’ will be advantageous for everyone to have healthy teeth; ‘Vikas Khara Khota’ portrays the right image about the environment, of maintaining the balance between development and environment. In fact, it also depicts about the role of the government while doing any development. It is important to keep in mind to do minimum damage and maximum storage of environment.”
Speaking about Late Dr Olivinho Gomes book titled, ‘A concise History of Goa’ Mr Kamat opined, “The book tells the story of Goa right from the time of liberation till the year 2007. This book will give a picture to Goans and outsiders about the history of Goa.”
Further he stated, “Since, we are going to commemorate golden jubilee of Goa’s liberation, I believe that we should have some write-ups related to it. I recommend that the directorate of official language to also work on it, through suggesting topics to best writers to write on it. For example like ‘Vision document of Goa 2010’.”
Speaking on the occasion Mr Ashok Patki, stated, “This is my fourth album for which I did music direction. Earlier, I had taken Swapnil and Shaan for my albums in Konkani. But, this time is for the first time, I am coming out with Goan artistes. It is a collection of songs written by eminent poet B B Borkar. To commemorate his birth centenary Naad Braham-Vasco approached me and it was an honour for me to work on an album that has B B Borkar’s songs.”
Dr Sandeep Lawande, Mr Raju Nayak and on behalf of Late Dr Olivinho Gomes, Mr Prajal Sakhardande also spoke on the occasion. Also the president of Naad-Brahma organisation Mr Anand Satoskar shared his views.
