A garden is a planned space, a place you can unwind and relax amidst green cover. However, you can now also enjoy nature with some added colour.

The garden of the Harmony Art and Handicraft Private Limited, located at Bastora/Ucassaim (near Mapusa) will today turn into art gallery where the works of artists from all over the globe will be showcased.

“Generally, exhibitions are held at museums, galleries or exhibition halls. However, in our case it is completely different as we aim to create the atmosphere of peace and harmony for the exhibition. Therefore, we thought of displaying art pieces in the garden. Our intention - to get visitors engrossed in the artworks within an environment of harmony,” enlightens Ms Monica Rostagno, one of the team members of Harmony and Handicraft Private Limited, Goa.

The organisation has been conducting several exhibitions in the state in order to encourage young artistes and encourage their skills in the field of art and handicrafts.

“We are throwing the exhibition open to aspiring artistes. We do not expect professionals to display their items. The mission of our organisation is to create a niche for budding talents as well as for others. Therefore, we organised the exhibition absolutely free of cost,” informed Monica.

It will display works of artistes like Hari (Germany), Silke (Germany), Monica (Italy), Claudio (Italy), Smruti (Goa), so on. The art pieces for the exhibition will include curtains, lampshades, photographs, paintings on different mediums, mosaics, glass fashion jewellery, etc.

The exhibition is meant to purely promote upcoming artistes, though of course there will be works by foreign artists on display too.

(The exhibition will be open only for a day on March 21 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Gardenof Harmony Artand Handicraft Private Limited, at Bastora/Ucassaim (near Mapusa).
