Garden Central Music Studio will be presenting a ‘Brass instrumental concert’ on Tuesday, July 10, at 7 p.m. at Menezes Braganza Hall, Panaji. The event is aims to promote the sound that is beautiful to hear, and unique to this family of instruments.
This is the fourth brass concert being held this year. July 10 has been deliberately chosen so as to celebrate the birthday of one of the mentors of the music studio, John Humphries, who is an authority on the French horn.
This time the focus will be on the extraordinary music of the Rock Opera, Jesus Christ Superstar, written specially for brass orchestras with percussion and electric bass.
Some of the finest brass musicians of Goa like Nolvert Cotta, Samy Braganza, Senon de Souza, and others will be supported on percussion by drummer Lester Godinho and the bassist Roque Lazarus.
A few musicians from Mumbai will also play some of rare brass instruments like the tuba, French horn and trombone.
