The Goa IT Day Event had an interesting discussion on powering ideas and innovations in the IT world between Lux Rao, solutions director, Dimension Data, a Bangalore based company, Ramanan Sumbukumar, Wipro Ventures with Prakash Jayaram, partner, advisory services, Ernst Young as the moderator.
Rao, pointed out that startups are no longer a smaller entity and can easily be associated with an idea that may end up with million bucks. Terming government’s as an alpha customer, he said, “if startups have an idea that goes into the smart city catalogue they have a role to play in their own locale.” Speaking on the lines of channelizing the potential of the budding entrepreneurs Sumbukumar said that best talents available across the globe can be harnessed through open innovations like block-chain technology, artificial intelligence, etc. He added that, Wipro along with other MNC’s has also contributed to the startup fraternity by mentoring innovative entrepreneurs and bring them on par with the other players in the market. The discussion pointed out that, innovation can be achieved through coaching and hands on experience of the business world.
