Irfan Yadwad’s brilliant hat-trick scripted Guirdolim SC’s 3-1 victory against CAC Cansaulim and helped them enter the quarterfinals of Our Lady of Fatima Cup football tournament, at  panchayat grounds, Dicarpale on Monday.

Irfan found the mark in the 9th, 50th and 55th minute.

Irfan made his intentions known right at the start when he sent two scorching tries quite early into the game and found success in the 9th minute when he bulged the nets to beat CAC Cansaulim keeper Prabhakar Kattimani with an angular effort.

CAC Cansaulim levelled the score in the 20th minute on a counter foray when striker Melody Correa gave no chance at all to the Guirdolim SC keeper D Fernandes.

The second session mostly belonged to Guridolim SC where Irfan Yadwad completed his hat-trick — once moving into the box from the right flank and on the other occasion, he deftly placed the ball to the far corner of CAC Cansaulim nets, keeping goalkeeper Prabhakr Kattimani dazed under the bar.
