GGG’s founder Rui Lobo has invited Andrew Norman, from the Isle of Wight, England to conduct a workshop for brass instrument players (Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone and Tuba) on April 10.
Andrew Norman, a virtuoso brass player, has been teaching and performing for more than 35 years, at the highest standards. He conducts a full Brass Concert Band at the Isle of Wight. He composes and arranges music for brass and other ensembles. He is also an experienced jazz musician working on the swing style.
He will demonstrate various playing styles on brass instruments; and will talk briefly on topics related to technique and musicality with a focus on brass. Players of brass instruments can bring their performance or study pieces and will be heard and given suitable instruction on their playing.
Participants have to bring their own brass instrument and music. There will be a group playing session where the individual parts will be provided by the organizers.
This workshop is being organised by Kala Academy and GGG (Guitar Guild Goa). This is part of a continued effort by both the institutions to revive the brass instrument tradition in Goa. It will be held on Saturday, April 10 at Kala Academy, from 2:30 to 4:30 pm.
The participants will be given a certificate of participation. The workshop is free of cost.
