Malayalam film wins Special Jury Award

"I want to do the remake of the film, ‘Adaminte Makan Abu’ in Hindi because many want to see it," said Salim Ahamed, director of the Malayalam film, which won the Special Jury Award at the 42nd IFFI,

The Malayalam film was made with a small budget while the remake of the same will be in big budget. "The cost will increase because of the inclusion of Bollywood actors," said the director, who did not want to disclose more about the cast and crew.

The film that has entered the Oscar nominations and Ahamed is planning to promote his film worldwide through an agent. "I will book an agent," informed the director.

The filmmaker is looking forward to screen his film at all multiplexes nationwide so that it reaches the maximum possible audience.

Many south Indian films are remade in Bollywood to which fact the filmmaker opined, "The Bollywood industry remakes hit south Indian movies to play safe."

For the last eight years, Ahamed has been working in the Television media and now he plans to take up movie making fulltime. The director is working on the script of his next film, but filmmaker refrained from mentioning the name of the new project.
