Loztat Te Fattim
‘Loztat Te Fattim’ a tiatr from Menino Mario has child artistes enacting the entire play. It is directed by Bladwin, a child artiste, and the background score has been provided by young musicians.
The play revolves around social issues and their effect on families. There is one father favours his normal son on one hand but neglects his mentally challenged son while another father hates his crippled daughter. Then there is a grandmother who gossips and always questions other’s integrity and a teacher who tries to teach his students but is treated like a buffoon by the class. It also touches on issues like belittling of traditional professions, advantage taken by migrants and ingratitude of children towards their parents, with a bit of the prodigal son thrown in.
A simple script, a smooth flow of sequences and, best of all, the performances; the pick is Swizel as the crippled girl. Her facial expressions, dialogue delivery and acting are perfect. Jerson, as the father, Milroy, as the retarded son, Benzer, as the teacher, Seby, as the migrant and Bladwin, as the prodigal son, put up an excellent performance. Sonali, Micah, Muriel, Adrian, Alister, Ashbel, Milton and Presley lend good support. In fact, watching these children makes one feel. The Konkani stage has a good future. Kudos to Menino Mario for extracting good performances.
In between acts there are nice songs by most of the kids and one by Menino Mario. Music has been provided by youngsters, Mauvin on keyboards, Jaison on drums, Macroy on violin and Peter on the bass.
An entertaining play to be watched by all, especially for the sake of the budding talent in action.
