In the meeting of the Executive Board of Tiatr Academy of Goa (TAG) held on  September 8, it was unanimously resolved to give financial support to Dramatic Troupes participating in the yearly Tiatr Festival organised by Kala Academy Goa.

The financial assistance to be given to each troupe is `10,000/-. The purpose behind this scheme is to help the producers of tiatr to improve the quality of stage setting, light effects, background music, costumes, make-up and direction. TAG is of the opinion that this financial support will help the tiatr producers to stage a better performance which will lead in the improvement of the standard of tiatr.

In fact, participants had sent a memorandum to the President of TAG explaining thereby the need of financial support to the participating troupes as it is given to commercial tiatr artistes for participating in the Popular Tiatr Festival organised by TAG.

In order to explain the details of the scheme to the participating troupes of the 36thTiatr Festival, a meeting of all concerned will be held on September 15 at 4:30 p.m. at TAG’s Conference Hall.

Representatives of participating troupes are requested to attend the meeting.

The scheme will be made applicable to all the participating troupes of the 36thTiatr Festival organised by Kala Academy Goa, which is due to commence from September 21 at the Kala Academy.
