Story telling marathon held at International Centre

Working parents with busy schedules have little time to narrate stories to their children and the Page-Turners Children’s Book Club brings the fascinating world of tales to the children.

Recently at the International Centre, Goa, Dona Paula, Ms Jugneeta Sunda narrated a total of 30 stories at a day-long workshop.
For the first half, ten stories from the Panchatantra, Jataka Tales, Tenali Raman, Aesop’s Fables, Hitopdesha, Akbar Birbal, Vikram Vetal, Arabian Nights and many other fairy tales were narrated to them.
Each story had a different moral, a different part of the world to discover and different languages to appreciate.
Later, the narration of traditional tales in contemporary times was held. The most common story of the hair and tortoise and the hardworking ant often read out to corporates were among the stories narrated to the children. The Thirsty Crow, the Fox and the Three Pigs, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, Ant and the Grasshopper, Alice in Wonderland, Cinderella, Red Riding Hood and The Boy who Cried Wolf were read out to the children.
With much to learn and listen, the children then joined in enacting the story characters.
