DonBosco College, Panaji, celebrated World Tourism Day on the September 25. President of TTAG, Mr Gaurish Dhond was the chief guest on the occasion while environmentalist, Mr Clinton Vaz, was the guest of honour.
Ms Tasneem Sayed welcomed the gathering and gave a talk on tourism and biodiversity. Principal of Don Bosco College, Dr Ms Marie Raj spoke about growth of the college and its achievements.
The intercollegiate event included a photography competition on the topic Creatures of the monsoons, a quiz competition, elocution competition, collage competition and a fashion show on the theme Tourism and Biodiversity. As many of six management colleges participated.
Rector, Rev Fr Paul D’Souza, former Provincial of the Konkan Province, Rev Fr Loddy Pires and manager, Rev Fr Wilfred Fernandes were also present on the occasion. Dy Director of Tourism, Ms Pamela Mascarenhas gave away the prizes. The vote of thanks was given by the class representative, Mr Kevin D’Souza.
