All you people who love sweets…here is a dessert for you and with medicinal benefits too. A single chunk of jaggery is said to be able to cure coughs, asthma, indigestion, migraines and even fatigue. It purifies you blood, regulates liver functions and prevents rheumatic afflictions.

And because it removes the toxins from your blood…it prevents ‘mood swings’.

Well chef Zelma has this superb recipe for you and when you taste it…I am sure it will make your ‘mood’ swing.

 

Sukhran

Ingredients:

600gms rice flour, 100 gms refined flour, 100 gms suji rava, ½ tsp soda-bi- carbonate, oil for deep-frying

For Stuffing:

600gms grated coconut, 300 gms jaggery (grated), ½ tsp green cardamom powder, 300gms bengal gram

Method:

Boil the Bengal gram in 1lt water and drain the water completely. Mash boiled Bengal gram with jaggery grated coconut and green cardamom. Divide the mixture into ten to twelve lemon size balls. Mix rice flour, refined flour, suji rawa and soda- bi- carbonate and make a smooth batter with 500ml water. Make sure that there are no lumps. Heat oil in a Kadai. Dip the balls in the batter and fry till crisp and golden brown.
