Homecoming and celebration at the GIM alumni meet

Goa Institute of Management organised its annual Alumni Meet, an evocative event that marks homecoming, celebration and unparalleled joy of communion with the alma mater, on September 1 at the GIM campus in Sanquelim.
The institute known for its diverse alumni base organises myriad activities every year for its existing students as well as its alumni. The alumni meet saw students from various batches of the institute coming together to celebrate and share experiences. This year, the alumni meet centred around the theme of entrepreneurship.
Present at the event was founder of GIM Fr Romuald D’souza. He felicitated the alumni of the institute for outstanding performance in their respective entrepreneurial ventures. Amongst the awarded alumni were some who are contributing to the state in one way or another. These included founder, Dalson Novatech, a leading manufacturer and trading company of concrete blocks and pavers, Desmond Da’ Costa; founder, Inventrom Robotics, a robotics start-up company, Pranav Pai Vernekar; and general manager, Sales, Sesa Goa Ltd, Sanjay Netravalkar. Somesh Yadav, Samarjeet Singh and Vishal Jain were also felicitated for their entrepreneurship endeavours.
A quiz, a football match and an ice-breaking session were organised to facilitate student-alumni interaction. In addition, the Samriddhi committee performed a flash mob. Students and alumni resolved to elect an alumni committee that would be responsible for organising activities and strengthening the network between alumni and the institute.
The grand alumni meet proved to be an ideal opportunity for the alumni to break away from the cocoon of their corporate lives for an evening of homecoming and celebration to renew old bonds, foster new ties and relive the magical years they had at the GIM campus.
