Photography and carols: Sobd, the Konkani bible app is organising a photography contest on the theme ‘Capturing the Goan Christian Faith’. The pictures should be submitted to http://sobd.in/contests, before November 30. The winners will be announced on December 19, 2018. Sobd is also organising the 2nd All Goa Carol Singing Contest 2018 on December 19 to mark the 1st anniversary of the app launch. The competition is open to junior and senior singing groups/schools/colleges/institutions from the state who will have to perform 2 carols, one which should be in Konkani. Food and music festival : As part of the Semana da Cultura Indo Portuguesa (Goa), a two day Food and Music Festival will be held on November 29 and 30, 7 p.m. at Taleigao Community Centre.

 

Eco movie night: Vaayu in Ashwen will host an eco-movie night with a documentary ‘Inhabit: a permaculture perspective’ on November 29, 6:30 p.m. Free entry.

 

Children’s tatr competition: TAG is organising the Children’s Tiatr Competition in collaboration with Ravindra Bhavan Vasco till December 29 at the main auditorium of Ravindra Bhavan, Vasco daily at 4 p.m. Entry is free on first come first serve basis.

 

Chitrasangam 2018: Artinspired Goa is organising the 5th edition of Chitrasangam – a ten-day national group art exhibition, at Ujwal Art Gallery, Vagator till December 1. It will be open for public viewing from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Popular tiatr competition :Every year Tiatr Academy of Goa organises the Popular Tiatr Competition. The main purpose of organising this competition is to bring about all round development of tiatr. This year the 10th Popular Tiatr Competition will be judged from January 5, 2019 to February 5, 2019 in any of the auditoriums at Panaji, Vasco, Sanquelim, Mapusa, Curchorem, Margao and Ponda. Those tiatrs who have completed 5 shows from April 1, 2018 to December 31, 2018 are eligible to participate. Hindustani music: The Indian Council for Cultural Relations, Goa in collaboration with Swar Bahar Sangeet Mandal, Bicholim will be presenting Pt Shailesh Bhagwat, a Hindustani classical shehnai player under the Horizon Series at Dindayal Upadhyay Hall, Near Shantadurga High School, Bicholim on December 1, 8 p.m. There will also be a jugalbandi between Shailesh Bhagwat and violinist Rajan Mashelkar.
