Panaji: Governor Mridula Sinha on Friday summoned the monsoon session of Goa legislative assembly from July 15. The 20-day monsoon session will conclude on August 9.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by Clause (1) of Article 174 of the Constitution of India, I, Mridula Sinha, Governor of Goa, hereby summon the Legislative Assembly of the State of Goa, to meet at Assembly Hall on Monday, 15th July, 2019 at 11.30 am,” says the order issued on June 14.
This will be the first full-fledged session for the Pramod Sawant-led government. It will be the first challenge to Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on the floor of the House. With 17 BJP members and six alliance partners, the Sawant government has absolute majority in the House.
