PANAJI: Mr Girish Chodankar, a former Goa Pradesh Youth Congress president and general secretary of Goa Pradesh Congress Committee, was on Monday appointed as a secretary of the All India Congress Committee (AICC).

PANAJI: The Congress high command on Sunday promoted Mr Luizinho Faleiro, a former president of Congress party in the state as well as a former chief minister of Goa, as a general secretary of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) as well as a member of the Congress Working Committee, even as Mr Digvijay Singh was named as the new general secretary in charge of Goa.
PANAJI: Over 500 farmers across the state have adopted the System of Rice Intensification (SRI) methodology in their farmlands since the inception in 2011 of this system of farming, which has provided a mass paddy yield of upto 30-35 per cent extra as compared to the conventional method.
