Five Goan artists Bismarck Dias, Francisco Pereira, Neela Bandodkar, Gladstone da Costa and Sabita Fernandes recently had their paintings and artwork on display at Gallery Shashi in Varca. Titled ‘ARTmosphere’ the exhibition showcased the artists’ learnings.
Although Neela likes working with pencils and tries to capture the subtle personality of the person through their eyes and facial expressions, on display at the exhibition was her colour collection which consisted of portraits of St Theresa, Dalai Lama and others.
Gladstone da Costa’s paintings in acrylic and oil paints showcased his emotions with a much deeper meaning. With over 25 years experience in the field of advertising, Bismarck Dias had thought-provoking paintings filled with colour and various elements.
Sabita Fernandes’ works explored various mediums while her strengths lie in charcoal, pencils, pastels, etc. Her travel tales form the basis for her work. Francisco Pereira has three decades experience in the field of advertising and works with acrylics, oils and pen and ink.
