Goa Velha SC, Moira encounter ends goalless

DULER: Goa Velha Sports Club once again dropped points as they held AA De Moira to a goalless draw in the GFA First Division League match played at Duler Stadium on Wednesday. Klusner Pereira was judged the Man of the Match.

After a midfield play in the first 10 minutes, Moira had the best chance to take the lead in the 14th minute when Faheez Mahammad set up Klusner Pereira with a long pass but the striker failed to capitalise on an easy chance.

A few minutes later, they came with another swift attack as Tippanna Bavikatti tried to find his teammate Faheez with a curling cross from the deep right flank but Goa Velha keeper Soma’s brilliant shot hit the striker’s head. Goa Velha took 28 minutes to create their first potent chance of the match as Akash Sanadi shot on the target from close but Moira custodian Preston Rego blocked it at the cost of a corner.

Goa Velha’s Soma continued to rescue his side with a brilliant saves in the second session as Moira’s Siddesh Kesarkar made a brilliant through pass to Joliston Rebello in the box but Soma made a diving effort to deny the forward.

Moira wasted another opportunity just after crossing the hour mark when Klusner made a low cross to Rudresh in the goalmouth but the midfielder failed to convert it.
