VASCO: A 28-year-old youth from Khariwada, Vasco inflicted injury upon himself after slitting his own throat with a sharp weapon on Sunday evening. The victim, who was identified as Ramesh, was moved to Goa Medical College (GMC) and Hospital, Bambolim in a critical state.

According to information from Vasco police, Ramesh, a native of Andhra Pradesh, was

staying at his uncle’s house at Khariwada since the last two months. The incident came to light at around 9 p.m. on Sunday when the victim’s family member, who was away, returned home only to find him in pool of blood.

Ramesh is employed in a reputed hotel based in the port town of Vasco.

Vasco police rushed to the site on learning about the incident and conducted inquiries. According to the victim’s relatives, he is mentally unsound and the motive behind his action was unknown.

Police sub-inspector, Mr John Fernandes is investigating the case under the supervision of Vasco PI, Mr Braz Menezes.
