VASCO: Vasco police informed that 60-year-old Vanita Kamat, a resident of Maimollem, Vasco, committed suicide by jumping into a well located around 20-meters from her home, on Monday evening, around 7.30 p.m.

The reason for the suicide was not known. The Vasco police fished out the body with the assistance of the Vasco fire personnel, and referred it to the Hospicio Hospital at Margao for postmortem.
Meanwhile, the Vasco police have registered an offence against the husband of a woman who committed suicide about a month and a half back, at Vaddem. The woman had jumped into a rivulet.
The enquiry into the suicide was carried out by the deputy collector and Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Mormugao, Mr Levinson Martins, who found that the husband was guilty of abetting the suicide.
