PONDA: Ponda police inspector, Mr C L Patil informed that a complaint has been lodged in connection with a theft of Rs 21,000 at the Shiroda Progressive Finance Cooperative Credit Society, near Shiroda market, which took place on Sunday night.
Mr Anthony Martins, the executive member of the credit society has lodged the complaint with the Ponda police on Monday stating that the culprits gained entry into the premises by bending the shutter lock.
“Once they were inside, they must have searched everything. At this point they found the keys (one set of keys to the safe was always kept in the drawer) and with the help of it, they easily opened the safe,” PI said quoting the complainant.
A dog squad and finger prints experts were summoned at the scene but no clues were found. Police have registered the case and are carrying out investigations.
