BICHOLIM: The Opposition leader, Mr Manohar Parrikar said students have more inclination towards technical education and their parents are fully aware of the present situation, which is a good sign of development of this field.
Mr Parrikar was speaking as the chief guest at a function where Saish Guruprasad Kapadi, who has secured 11th rank in the country at the IIT entrance examination, was felicitated. The function was organised by Bharat Vikas Parishad at Bicholim.
Dr Guruprasad Kapadi, Ms Jyoti G Kapadi and Mr Soiru Varde were present on the dais on the occasion.
Stressing on the moral responsibility of an individual, Mr Parrikar said, “We should always build a clean image in the society by doing good deeds through our achievements.” Kapadi was felicitated by presenting a memento at the hands of Mr Parrikar. He expressed his views about his educational journey on the occasion. Earlier, the president of Bharat Vikas Parishad, Bicholim, Mr Sagar Shetye welcomed the guests and the gathering. Mr Shetye said Kapadi has made Bicholim proud by achieving this success, adding he is a role model for the students. Mr Parish Khanolkar proposed the vote of thanks. Mr Soiru Varde compered the function.
