Dr Pegado said that there is no official communication in this regard of Mr D’souza getting nominated as the party’s state president.

He further said that the party officials have not discussed the latest development with him at the moment.

He also said that he spoke to Mr D’souza in this regard on Wednesday morning, however, things are not yet clear with regard to post of the state president of the party.

Dr Pegado said that the party chief and Union Agriculture Minister, Mr Sharad Pawar and the Union Civil Aviation Minister, Mr Praful Patel, who have been empowered to make a final decision with regard to the nominating the party president of the state unit, will take the best decision in the interest of the party, however, nothing has been finalised as yet and added that the party is looking to revamp the unit in the state keeping the future in mind.

Mr D’souza, when asked for his comments on his taking over as the next state president of the party, said that he has not got any official confirmation till now on this issue and that the party high command will decide on the topic of the next party president.
