MARGAO: The additional district and session judge, South Goa, Mr B P Deshpande, on Friday, granted anticipatory bail to Konrad Torrado, the brother of the deceased Nadia Torrado.
As per the order passed by the court, the applicant will be released on furnishing a bail of Rs 10,000, with one surety in like amount, in the event of his arrest. He shall cooperate with police and be available as and when required, and shall not leave the state without proper permission from the court. He shall not temper with the evidence, says the order.
Mr Deshpande heard the arguments on the anticipatory bail application moved by Konrad and the matter was posted for orders on Friday. The Crime branch investigating the death of Nadia Torraddo had opposed the anticipatory bail, staying that Konrad is wanted by the police for the purpose of recovery of mobiles, ratol tube, laptop, passport, etc.
Public prosecutor, Mr Bhanudas Gaonkar represented the state, while Mr Antonio Clovis Da Costa appearing on behalf of the applicant.
