PANAJI: A day-long training programme for implementing agencies of Member of Parliament Local Area Development Schemes such as PWD and Collectorate organised by Nodal Officer South Goa District was held at Margao on Monday.
Mr R Rajesh, director MPLADS, government of India who inaugurated the programme said that the training programme for implementing agencies of MPLADS was started in the year 2006-07 to enable the concerned agencies understand the guidelines properly and ensure effective implementation of MPLAD schemes. He said the training programme is being conducted in different states of the country extending financial and technical assistance. He urged the implementing agencies to offer their suggestions for proper implementation of MPLAD guidelines.
The director of MPLADS also reviewed the developmental projects taken up in North and South Goa District under MPLAD Scheme. He interacted with the trainees working on MPLADS. The agencies involved in implementing MPLAD projects apprised the director of the difficulties faced by them.
The implementing agencies from North and South Goa gave presentation on projects undertaken by them under MPLADS in both the districts.
