PANAJI: The government has set December 2010 as the deadline for releasing the Regional Plan 2021, in a phase-wise manner.
Coming out with this information, the Chief Minister, Mr Digambar Kamat said that the taluka plans for the RP 2010, pertaining to Pernem, and Canacona would be released in the notified form within next 15 days.
“And then the plans for other talukas would be released in a phase-wise manner every 15 days,” he added.
“The release of the taluka plans of first two talukas will make all realise how much laborious work has been put in the RP 2021,” he added, stressing that for the first time, survey numbers as in property documents will be made available in the taluka plans, besides all objections uploaded on the website.
The Chief Minister, replying to a related question from the Fatorda MLA, Mr Damodar Naik said that the state level committee set up under his chairmanship, working on the finalisation of the RP 2021, allows an individual applicant to construct a house on an area of up to
1,000 sq mts.
When asked about the criteria for deciding the applications to construct resorts, Mr Kamat said that a number of such applications have come before the state level committee, especially requesting for changing of zone.
“The views of the related village panchayats as well as gram sabhas are taken into consideration for the purpose,” he added.
The Chief Minister further informed that if an applicant applies for construction of a resort or a spa on 2 to 3 lakh sq mts of land, it is found that the actual land required for construction is much less. “Therefore, the SLC can consider such constructions on land admeasuring up to 40,000 sq mts,” he pointed out.
