VASCO: The Revenue Minister, Mr Jose Philip D’Souza distributed over 5,000 exercise books to the needy and poor students from Vasco constituency.
The distribution of exercise books was organised by Domrine Charitable Trust on Sunday at various
localities like Dhaktalem, Belabai, Mangor-Hill, Gandhinagar, Sasmollem-Baina Bhute Bhat, Patrong-Baina and Islampura.
The functions were attended by MMC councillor, Ms Suchita Shirodkar, Mr Joseph Sequiera, former MMC councillor, Mr Iqbal Shaikh, Mr Maxcy Fernandes, Mr Menino Furtado, Mr Rashid Shaikh besides other prominent people from the localities.
While speaking on the occasion, Mr D’Souza said that this is not the first time that the Domrine Charitable Trust has distributed exercise books to the needy and poor students.
"During the last few years, we have been distributing exercise books with an intension to give a helping hand to students from the backward class of the society," he added.
Domrine Charitable Trust will keep serving the needy and poor in the future also, stated Mr D’Souza.
Meanwhile, Mr D’Souza also distributed exercise books to the students of Our Lady of Candelaria High School at Baina on Saturday.
In another function, Mr Jose Niclau D’Souza distributed exercise books to the needy and poor students from the slum locality of Khariwada under the trust.
The function was attended by Mr Clemente D’Souza, Mr Socorro Estibeiro, councillor, Mr Arnaldo Rego, Mr Paschao Monteiro and others. At this time, over 1,000 school students were benefited.
