Efficiency led to ISO certification: Aleixo

PANAJI: ISO certificate was presented to the Department of Printing and Stationery at a function held at the hall of Goa State Co-operative Bank Ltd at Patto in the presence of Minister for Printing and Stationery, Mr Aleixo Sequeira on Friday. The Chief Secretary, Mr S K Srivastava, Secretary, printing and stationery, Mr V P Rao also graced the occasion.

Mr Anil Patil Kulkarni, in-charge, training south of TUV India Private Ltd, Bangalore, handed over ISO certificate to Mr Sequeira.

Speaking as the chief guest on the occasion, Mr Sequeira congratulated the employees of Printing and Stationery for getting ISO certification.

He said, that this is the second government department to get the ISO certification first being Department of Art and Culture.

The minister further said due to the efficient and quality work of the employees, the department has achieved the milestone.

The Government Printing Press is the oldest press of the government in Asia and the first Government Press in India to get the ISO certification, he added.

To achieve the ISO certification is not an easy task but the employees have achieved it, Mr Sequeira pointed out and called upon the employees to work more efficiently to raise the flag higher.

The minister also released index of Official Gazette on this occasion. Director of Printing and Stationery, Mr N D Agarwal welcomed the gathering. Deputy director, Mr Subhash S Shetye proposed the vote of thanks.
